The Spotlight Principal Photography to Begin in Los Angeles

reported by Troy Williams, CyberScreenwriter.com

Juan Carlos Vargas (special effects wizard on the hit film "300" and "Fantastic Four") directs an up and coming talented ensemble cast in a production of stellar scope.

The Spotlight film began principal photography May 11, 2007 under the direction of Juan Carlos Vargas, writer and director, jointly announced by John Azpilicueta, Executive Producer, of JAGQA Productions and Warren Duenas, Producer, of O27 Entertainment. The production is due to wrap on August 12, 2007.

The film’s premise highlights illegal entertainment. Ten young actors audition for a reality show. A million dollar prize is in store if they can survive past three killers, and each other – all streaming live over the internet.

The production stars Danny Vasquez, Nicole Warner, Daniel Fanaberia, Meredith Grau, Mafe Guarin McAllister, Pablo Hernandez, Olivia Briggs, Jay R Martinez, Sarah Rich, Matt Azpilicueta, David McCowan, Rob Amjarv, Cynthia Dallas and reuniting once again with veteran actor Thomas Kappler.

The screenplay is a collaboration written by Vargas and Azpilicueta. The other members of the behind-the-camera crew include directors of photography Mariano Llosa, George Yamamoto, set designer Adam C. Woods, costume designer Beverly McIntyre, art director Carlos Jones, makeup and special effects Tifanie White, Marky Andrews, Charlie Mitchell, Jessica Katie Kane, with still and movie poster photography lensed by Chris Sorensen.

JAGQA Productions in association with O27 Entertainment are independent producers of theatrical motion pictures. The joint ventures license their films to ancillary markets including cable and broadcast television as well as international venues.
