Award-winning television and film producer Albert Fisher launched on AOL's UnCut Video (http://uncutvideo.aol.com) a worldwide initiative called "A Minute of World Peace" to encourage the creation and online submission of one-minute videos to promote world peace.
"Never has the time been more appropriate or the technology more readily available for individuals to express themselves creatively on this universal issue than right now," explains Fisher. "This is a unique opportunity for people of all ages to create 60-second films to share their individual feelings about the global quest for world peace."
In conjunction with this video sharing initiative, Albert Fisher has launched a new site called "The World Peace Arts Festival." This new site, located at http://www.worldpeaceartsfestival.com, details how to submit videos on AOL's UnCut Video and offers sample one-minute films on world peace.
This world peace initiative comes as a result of Fisher's highly successful motion picture short for Columbia Pictures, "The World of Man." This film featured over a dozen one-minute films exploring issues of the human condition and received awards from numerous international film festivals, including those held in Cannes, New York, London, Chicago, Barcelona and Edinburg.
"It is our hope that we will be able to enlist major corporations to support this new global awareness program," said Fisher. "Our goal is to be able to select 365 video submissions to share one video with the world every day for a full year."
"We're excited by the enthusiasm demonstrated for this project to promote world peace," said Fred McIntyre, Senior Vice President, AOL Video. "We're pleased that UnCut Video can be used as a vehicle to support this global initiative."
