In this new partnership Nick G. Miller will write, direct and produce film and TV projects while David Rodgers will take on a more business, advisory and creative role bringing completed works to the next level. The new company will be Rodgers / Miller Productions.
Miller and Rodgers first met several years ago at a film festival and had expressed interest in someday working together on a film. It was only after viewing a rough draft of Miller's latest feature "The Unlikely's," that Rodgers was convinced that he couldn't let a talent like Miller get away.
"He is not only one of the best screen writers I have ever seen but he is destined to be one of the finest directors of our time. Nick Miller is a true filmmaker, which is something that is rare in our industry," says Rodgers. "My projects and movies have all been entertaining and have all made money. I have waited a long time to find a writer that can direct and I am more excited today than I have ever been about making pictures."
"Having an executive and creative producer like Rodgers on my team is an honor," says Miller. "David has great business sense and his history of producing profitable films speaks for itself. I saw what he did with Don Jakoby and Dan O'Bannon and that excites me."
The first feature film from the duo is a comedy entitled "The Unlikely's," which was produced through Miller's NGM Entertainment. The second project is a horror film entitled "The Reunion." Rodgers and Miller are also producing a television series entitled "Band America."
Nick G. Miller is an actor, film producer, writer and director. His film acting credits include "The Last Marshal," "The Librarians," and "Chronicles of an Exorcism." He has produced television shows such as E! Entertainment's "Wild On," and the Mark Cuban series "Art Mann Presents." "The "Unlikely's," is Miller's directorial debut of a feature film.
David Rodgers was Creative Producer and Manager of sorts for writers Don Jakoby and Dan O'Bannon, which began with the script "Alien." Rodgers has been involved in over 15 major feature films and scripts including "Alien," "Return of the Living Dead," "Blue Thunder," "Philadelphia Experiment," "Death Wish III," "Arachnophobia," "The Colony," "Under Siege 2," "Invaders from Mars," "Vampires," "Double Team," and "Evolution," to name only a few. His work has grossed over 1 Billion dollars at the box office.
"The Unlikely's," is the first feature film Miller has directed. He is currently meeting with studios and major Producers to structure a package to include "The Unlikely's," "The Reunion," and the television series "Band America." According to Miller, "We're in a good place right now. The film we just finished tested incredibly well across the demographic spectrum. It appeals to a lot of people and I think it's due to the simplicity of the story, great performances by the actors, and a strong musical score and soundtrack."
