Lulu.tv Invites YouTube Video Award Winners to Get Rich

reported by Robert James, CyberScreenwriter.com

While contests on video-sharing websites such as YouTube are recognizing the best videos this weekend with "fleeting" fame and a trophy, Lulu.tv would like to do it with fortune. Lulu.tv (http://www.lulu.tv/) shares 80 percent of its ad revenue, which is split among its creators based solely on traffic.

The most lucrative viral video site on the internet, Lulu.tv is free to join and has 5,000 registered users and one million page views per month. With over $65,000 paid out to creators over the last six months, Lulu.tv empowers people to make their creations a profitable reality. Now Lulu.tv is more than just video, with the recent launch of music and Podcasts that allow for the same payout as the video infrastructure.

"I'm getting paid for a video I made for free," said Andrew Bush, Canadian filmmaker. "In one month my video got 15,000 hits and I held 53 percent of the viewer-ship. Lulu.tv provides a better opportunity for up-and-coming film makers like me to promote their creativity by sharing the revenue."

"The best way for us to reward and recognize our creators is to put money into their pockets," said Jeremy Hogan of Lulu.tv. "Some Lulu.tv success sto- ries, like Andrew Bush, are making thousands of dollars monthly."

Other Lulu.tv creators securing top viewer-ship include Fannie Aliff, a single mother who vlogs her real world advice from a spare room in her mother's house where she lives with her kids.

Lulu.tv is part of Lulu.com, the premier marketplace for new digital con- tent on the Internet, with more than 100,000 recently published titles, and more than 2500 new titles added each week, created by people in 80 different countries. Lulu is changing the world of publishing by enabling the creators of books, video, periodicals, multimedia and other content to publish their work themselves with complete editorial and copyright control.
