At the recent NATPE Convention which was held at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, Del Weston of the Action On Film International Film Festival and Glen Hartford of the Cinamour Entertainment Company signed an initial deal which will give Cinamour Entertainment First Look rights to all films and filmmakers submitting work to the 2007 Action On Film Festival.
The AOF Festival which has become a favorite show of independent filmmakers and celebrities alike is held July 27-29, 2007 at the Long Beach Entertainment Center in Long Beach CA. The show which has hosted stars such David Carradine, John Saxon, Nick Mancuso, Fred Williamson, Bill Duke and Russell Wong has quickly become one of the top festivals in the country according to Hollywood Scriptwriter Magazine. One of the main goals of the festival is to recognize talent from around the globe for films that may otherwise go unnoticed. Festival Director, Del Weston said, 'We started the show not to recognize action films per se, but to recognize films that gave other filmmakers and viewers a reason to move toward action; make your own film, voice your opinion about a subject, react to what you are seeing; some sort of action. However, people think of us as a venue for 'action' films, that's alright too because it has helped us reach a much greater audience in a very short period of time.' Last year, Rogue Pictures sponsored the festival through their release of the Jet Li film, FEARLESS. The AOF became Jet Li central and nearly 15,000 fans were able to preview the FEARLESS trailer at both the screenings of AOF films and at the Black Tie Award Show and Dinner which drew over one thousand guests.
