Videodetective.com has just launched a new free online game for film buffs to test their movie knowledge called "Beat the Detective." This new and novel game pits 'would be movie sleuths' against Video Detective's vast database of 20,000 streaming trailers to measure just how many movies they can identify in the shortest time.

This is not a game for the faint of heart. Game players have just 15 seconds to identify each trailer clip from the genre they select. The quicker a player matches a clip with the correct title, the higher their score. They get four trailers per "hand" with a "round" consisting of three hands. Players are rated each round from worst to best scores as a Wet-Nosed Rookie, Hard-Boiled Gumshoe, Caper King or a Master Sleuth.
