Big Screen Entertainment Group recently closed deals for two new feature films. The first project was written by Jonas Barnes, who currently works at Original Films ("Fast and the Furious," "Triple X," "Sweet Home Alabama"). The script is in the thriller/horror genre, titled "Babysitter Wanted." The movie will begin pre-production in July 2006. Barnes and BSEG Senior VP Michael Manasseri will co-direct.
"Babysittter" is a frightening, edgy thriller with great commercial appeal. BSEG is aiming to have the film ready for pre-sales at the American Film Market in November.
The second film is by acclaimed screenwriter Ron Zimmerman. An extraordinary urban love story titled "Standing Down." The script has gone out to several top stars, and has generated a lot of interest. "Standing Down" is one of the most compelling scripts I have ever read," stated BSEG's president David Zappone. "All of us at Big Screen are excited about turning this engaging story into a great film."
Zimmerman's producer credits include the long-running WB series "Seventh Heaven," the Pamela Anderson comedy "VIP" and NBC's "The Michael Richards Show." Zimmerman also wrote episodes of ABC's "My Wife and Kids" and the FOX show "Action." Known for his frequent appearances on "The Howard Stern Show," Zimmerman is currently developing a feature film with Larry Charles (Producer -- "Curb Your Enthusiasm," "Entourage," "Seinfeld," "Mad About You"), Richard Belzer (currently starring in "Law and Order: SUV"), and music superstar Madonna.
Big Screen has completed two feature films and currently has two films in post-production. Visit the company's Web site at www.bigscreenent.com for more information on BSEG's projects.
